Who Would Jesus Be?
Jesus was a man of both
the wild
places and the city. He was at home in either environment, and
used examples from each environment to teach people about the ways of
the Kingdom of God, and what it is like. But those who followed,
even in the inner circle did not get it. They did not understand
his teachings and were often perplexed... even up to the
Ascension! "Will you now restore the kingdom (i.e. David's Kingdom)?"
Instead the response was "You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea,
Samaria, and
the uttermosts parts of the earth."
They still didn't get it.
We don't get it.
Like the rich young ruler, we continue to ask the question, What must I DO to inherit or get something?
It is about BEING.
We ask the question What Would Jesus DO?
Really?
